Perry Joins Elite 100-Win Club
Posted December 29, 2006
Tyler Perry, in Berwick's second win of
the day over Nanticoke, notched Career Win #100 with a first period pin to
join the elite 100-Win Club of Berwick Wrestling. Tyler, Berwick's
stellar 140-pounder, becomes just the 9th wrestler in the history of Berwick
Wrestling to record 100 career wins. In getting his 100th win in
December of his senior year, Tyler is on pace to eclipse the all-time career
win record of Berwick Wrestling.
Senior Profile
As a freshman, Tyler notched a school record 33 wins en-route to winning the
District 2 Class AAA Championship. As a sophomore he recorded another
31 wins and finished as the District 2 AAA runner-up, while the Dawgs won
the District Championship Team Title. An injury in the first
tournament of the year of his junior season caused him to miss 12 matches
and impacted his year finishing 24-9. Tyler has put in a great
off-season and will be reaching for a lofty spot on the PIAA State
Championship podlum.
To date, Tyler has placed 4th, 3rd, and 1st in the Keystone
Games Invitational (former Times Leader) tournament, is a 3-time District
Place Winner taking 3rd, 2nd, and 1st. Tyler is also a former Jim
Thorpe Tournament Champion and finished 2nd in this year's Penn Manor
tournament.
Tyler is a 4-time All-Academic student-athlete with a 3.75
GPA and plans to wrestle in college.
Congratulations Tyler!!
