Berwick Wrestling Family Holds Varsity & Junior High Team Banquet On April 1

The Berwick Wrestling Family came together on April 1 for the annual team banquet to honor all varsity and junior high wrestlers, coaches, and supporters at the Middle School Cafeteria.  There was a ton of great food and the Dawg Faithful tips their hat to all involved in coordinating this festive gathering.

The banquet also served to extend our sincere appreciation to our graduating seniors, bestow awards to our high achieving Dawgs, and to recognize our junior high Dawgs.

Varsity Presentation

Head coach Ernie Yates introduced each member of the varsity team and provided highlights of each wrestler's season.  Every Dawg was also given a memento for their hard work and dedication.  All departing seniors were recognized for their contribution to the success of Berwick Wrestling.  Our departing seniors will be greatly missed and their hard work, skill, and dedication will be long remembered.  Our departing seniors include:  Josh Walsh, Steve Ferguson, and Zeb Bankes.

Mr. Tom Venditti provided a digital video slide-show presentation featuring photographs of wrestlers and coaches in action during the past season.  Each wrestler was also provided with their very own CD copy of the presentation.  Mr. Venditti did a superb job on this presentation and his efforts are very much appreciated!

Presentation of annual awards continued with special recognition given to the following high honor achieving Dawgs:

Coach Yates then provided awards of recognition to the following Dawg supporters for their time, commitment, support, and dedication to the Berwick Wrestling Program:  Mr. Bohl, Chuck Bujno, Julie and Lou Ney, Cindy Karns, Rich Knecht, and Karen and Tom Venditti.  The Berwick Wrestling Family appreciates all of your hard work.

Junior High Presentation

The junior high Dawgs are coached and directed by head coach Jeff Lorson and assistant coach Mark Maczuga.  The junior high wrestling team had another successful season and Coach Lorson provided a season summary.  Coach Lorson also introduced and honored each junior high wrestler for their hard work and dedication throughout the season.

Mr. Rick Rado, a Berwick Wrestling alumni, made his second annual presentation of two awards he has established for the junior high program.  The recipients of these awards this year were:

2006 Rick Bloom Award (Outstanding Teammate):  John Jola, 9th Grade
2006 Coach Ross & Coach Cole Award (Outstanding Student-Athlete):  Chris Bujno, 8th Grade

In addition and prior to the junior high awards, Mr. Rado also provided a donation to the Berwick Wrestling Program.  The Dawgs sincerely thank Mr. Rick Rado for his generosity, recognition, and continued support of the Berwick Wrestling Program.  Thanks Rick!!
