Berwick Wrestling Family Pays Tribute To Seniors On January 25

The Berwick Wrestling Family recognized and extended its appreciation to our cherished Dawg seniors prior to the home dual with Wyoming Valley West on January 25.  What a difference a year makes.  Last year Berwick had 10 seniors.  This year we have 3.  But senior leadership is not about numbers.  It is about character.  And character is what defines this outstanding threesome in guiding a young but talented group of underclassman.

Personal Senior Snapshots By This Webmaster

Zeb Bankes
I have known and watched "Zeb The Tank" wrestle for many years now.  A multi-sport talent, this is one kid that has stepped up the ladder of improvement each and every year and is wrestling better than ever this season.  Off the mat I have never seen Zeb get too excited.  On the mat is another issue.  When Zeb wrestles he has recorded some of the most impressive and crushing pins this webmaster has ever seen.  With a district place winning finish last season, Zeb has what it takes to win again this year!
Zeb - best wishes in all that you do.

Steve Ferguson
Steve is one more kid that I have known for a long time and the minute I met him his athletic abilities stood out above the rest (I really can't remember for sure, but I think during midget football I use to put the "wrestling bug" in his ear - either way - we snatched him!!).  Steve is a talented multi-sport athlete that has had success in all that he has pursued.  That is one quality that will certainly guide his future success after his high school days are over.  Keep kicking butt Steve!
Steve - best wishes in all that you do.

Josh Walsh
Josh is like a son to me and when I watch him compete I get as wound up as with my own 2 boys.  Josh, another multi-sport talent, is on a mission not to be denied this year and only the sky is the limit on what he can achieve in wrestling. Once, in junior high, his father told me that he wished Josh would start getting serious about weight-lifting.  It took a year or two for Josh to get addicted to the weight room.  The result?  I don't think there is another 145-pounder anywhere or any place that is as strong as Josh Walsh!
Josh - best wishes in all that you do.

On behalf of the entire Berwick Wrestling Family, the coaching staff, all of the Dawg teammates, and all Berwick fans, we give a heartfelt THANK YOU to our seniors.  The leadership you have provided this year through your hard work and dedication has gained our highest respect.  The Berwick Wrestling Family also sincerely wishes you only the best in your continued journey in life.
